Independence Cottage - Historic Honeymoon suite in Downtown Dahlonega

Over the past weekend Cyndi and Rick Durham met with George Butler to see his wonderful Honeymoon Suite in downtown Dahlonega.

Independence Cottage is the latest addition to the wonderful lodging opportunities for couples getting married in Dahlonega, Georgia. This property mixes the best of the old with the new… the building is a historic treasure dating back to 1876. Mr. Butler has restored it with painstaking care combining antiques and decor with a classic “low country” feel, combined with flat screen TVs, wi-fi, ‘and a modern kitchen. It can sleep four, but if you are looking for a convenient Honeymoon suite… THIS IS IT!

The suite is on the ground floor of the historic building with Mr. Butler law firm on the top floor. Right outside you will find a smoker you can use for creating a gourmet meal. Just outside the front door you will see 40 foot deep wishing well that will capture your imagination of days gone by. Best of all, the suite is located less than two blocks from the Historic Dahlonega square where you will find numerous restaurants, shops, and entertainment options!
